How I Tripled My Blog Traffic In One Week

Not so long ago, I was in a blogging slump. I felt like my view count wasn't going anywhere, despite my decision to sponsor a few blogs and that no one was taking the time to look at my stuff. When I posted about my slump, I got some great words of advice, but also some harsh words about my blog from people were weren't fans of it. For a while, I felt like giving up. But then I read this post by Dolly Dowsie and I decided I'd employ some of her techniques and see what happened.

Lo, and behold, my views tripled and I even had a post go viral. Here's what I did:

Facebook Groups:
There are three groups I've joined in order to help my blog grow. Two of them I was already a member of, but I didn't make use of because I was just feeling like anything I did wasn't of use to make my traffic grow. However, I figured out I was pretty wrong.

1. Twitter Marketing Group
I think this one has been the most instrumental in my blog growth. You tweet something and everyone retweets it. The only downside of this is that it can really clog up your twitter. If you're afraid of that, create a separate twitter account (that you keep active) to retweet other people's tweets. Just make sure you're actually keeping that account active. This can be a bit time consuming, but I think it is the most worth it.

2. UK Bloggers
This one doesn't yield as much traffic, but you can get to know other UK bloggers, make connections and get a bit of traffic through commenting and retweeting. They also occasionally post opportunities for bloggers.

3. Grow Your Blog
This group also probably won't grow your traffic exponentially, but it will at least give you some extra eyes on your blog if you participate in the threads. You can also meet other bloggers and bounce ideas off one another.

Other Ideas:

1. Instagram
Instagraming a photo from your blog post is a fantastic way to get people to come to your blog. Make sure to add your link in profile.

2. Pinterest
Pinning your pin-worthy images can bring some serious traffic.

3. Stumble Upon
Make sure you do this to every post and ensure to label them correctly. Posts about photography and food are the best ways to grain traffic.

    1. No, the Facebook groups are free. You can experiment, though, spending money on Facebook ads which I don't think are a bad way to spend your money. xx

First time I'm hearing about the Twitter Marketing Group. I'm going to try that. I've never participated in retweet threads before, because I was afraid it would clog up my feed. But it's a good idea to have an account just for that.

    1. Yeah I was retweeting and then I felt sorry for my followers so I decided to get a new one exclusively for that and to engage with people there. xx
