Dutch Make-Up

While I was in Amsterdam, I got to pick up some Dutch (and German) make-up from a brand I used to use when I lived there called Catrice and one from the HEMA beauty store. HEMA, for those of you not familiar, is a store that sells all of its own brand, but sells a little bit of everything (like Target, Tesco, K-Mart, etc.). I haven't delved too much into their beauty products, but since I was doing a swap with A Journey East (more to come on that later), I thought I would pick some things up. Of course I ended up getting some stuff for myself.

Here are my little goodies (not the best photo, I know!):
From bottom to top: Catrice Pure Shine Colour Lip Balm in Sheer Your Mind!
Catrice Pure Shimmer Highlighter
HEMA Duo Eyeshader Pencil in 4H1/19
  Colour Lip Balm by Catrice
Colour Lip Balm

I actually loved this. It makes the lips feel moisturized and gives a little hint of colour at the same time. It isn't too overstated, but is perfect for work or school. It does build up a little on the edge of the lips, which is bizarre, though, but I'm not sure if it is super noticeable.

I'd give this product a 4/5

Cream Eyeshader Duo by HEMA

What it looks like on:

This product was my least favorite of the bunch. Mostly because it was near impossible to blend and just ended up looking a weird elephant grey. I guess you can't expect miracles for less than £2. Maybe I'll use the pink end for something else, but the brown just looks horrible.

I give this a 2/5

Catrice Pure Shimmer Highlighter

As a cheek highlighter

I was actually quite impressed with this. I haven't really used anything but wet highlight, so this makes for an interesting change. The highlight appears to last, but does someone over 30 really want shimmer all over their cheeks?

I'd give this a 4/5 as well.

  1. The highlighter looks great! Catrice is a brand that I've always been curious about, I'll have to try some of these products as well. The lip balm looks like the Clinique Chubby sticks, they can be worth trying instead of putting a lot of money in the Clinique ones!

    1. Yeah I had never used anything but the nail polish so I am super happy with everything I've tried. I'm not sure if you can get it shipped to the UK, though. Where are you from? I checked out your blog and I'm guessing France or Belgium. :) Do they have Catrice there? xx
